Sharing our passion for Southern Africa
Travel With Marie was founded in 2012 in Johannesburg by Marie Elefteriou. A French-born South Africa enthusiast who chose to settle in this country 21 years ago, Marie left the bright lights of Paris and lives in the beautiful "Mother City" of Cape Town. Two years after the agency was created, the growing business allowed Bénédicte Spinewine to join the adventure. Based in France, Bénédicte spent 11 years living in Johannesburg and regularly returns to South Africa, either solo or with her family.

After having explored Southern Africa in depth, Marie and Bénédicte now share their love for the region's magnificent landscapes and cultures with travellers from all over the world. Together, over more than a decade, they designed and developed the tours, visiting the various destinations, "testing" the lodges and camps and meeting the people on the ground, slowly refining their knowledge so they can offer personal, authentic, tailor-made experiences.

Travel Designer
After many trips around the world during her student years, she quickly realised that her life would not unfold in Paris. Fate had other plans for her, including meeting a South African in Mexico! Some 18 years later, she is married to that South African, and has two daughters who have caught the "travel bug" from their mother and love exploring Africa with her. Her mission in life is to share her passion for South Africa and the Southern African region with travellers from across the world.
Benedicte Spinewine

Bénédicte arrived in South Africa in 2010 without suspecting that she would quickly fall in love with the country. Originally from Belgium, she did several jobs before joining Travel With Marie in September 2014. Since then, she takes pleasure in organising incredible itineraries for Travel With Marie's clients and considers it a privilege to be able to work in such a vibrant industry in an amazing part of the world. She sometimes feels guilty for enjoying what she does and getting to travel so widely, but it doesn't last long!

Avril Hart
Reservation Agent
Avril grew up in Durban and is now based in Cape Town. She has three beautiful daughters who she is courageously raising on her own. She joined Travel With Marie in 2024 and has taken on the very important role of making all the bookings! Avril is now trying to learn French to better serve our clients and has embraced the tourism industry!

Palesa was born near Johannesburg where she grew up. She did part of her schooling at the French school where she excelled.
